Item #: SCP-7849

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: The only known way of inhibiting SCP-7849 is the substance known as Divinium, henceforth referred to as SCP-7849-2. SCP-7849-2 is a seemingly baseline metal that exhibits anomalous effects only when interacting with materials and entities that come from outside baseline reality. SCP-7489-2 is only able to be harvested reliably from the bodies of an entity known to GOI-73 (Order of the Cruciform Sword) as the Tarask, designation SCP-7849-3, an entity that regularly appears when SCP-7849 releases large amounts of energy. As such, SCP-7849-1 is to be contained in a cell lined with SCP-7849-2, and discouraged from attempts to use SCP-7849 in any manner.

Containment Addendum: As a result of interactions between SCP-7849, Researcher Beatrice was transferred to another site. This resulted in a noticeable increase in SCP-7489-1-J's danger rating and a stark decrease in SCP-7489-1-J's reliability in the field. Researcher Beatrice is to be kept as the primary liaison between foundation personnel and SCP-7489-1-J, and is designated as its official handler.

Containment Addendum: Researcher Beatrice is to have her clearance level reduced two levels and moved solely to working with SCP-7849-1-J. It is the opinion of the council that her bond with SCP-7849-1-J is more useful with regards to the current SCP-7852 crisis than it is a hindrance with containment of SCP-7849-1-J’s containment.

Description: SCP-7849 is an anomalous power source that only operates at full capacity while implanted in a human. This human, known as the Halo Bearer to GOI-73, is designated as SCP-7849-1, and is an anomalous entity that exhibits many human traits above baseline, including regeneration, enhanced strength, and the ability to perceive anomalous entities not normally visible. Individual halo bearers have also exhibited unique abilities, such as SCP-7849-1-J (AKA Ava Silva) having the ability to levitate and shift through solid matter, as well as restoring mobility to SCP-7849-1-J at the cost of a portion of SCP-7849's output.

Addendum 1.1: A petition was filed by Researcher Beatrice █ █ █ █ █ to form a team by the name of MTF-749 (Codename: Fallen Angels) to allow for the use of 7849-1 in a more positive manner, contingent on good behavior. Order approved by head researcher tentatively, with the condition that SCP-7849 be fitted with a sub dermal tracker and a vest lined with SCP-7849-2 to prevent escape and allow for recapture.

Addendum 1.2: GOI-73 has expressed interest in cooperation contingent on the remanding of SCP-7849 to their custody. After being denied, they countered with an offering of one of their own members, who they claimed to be experienced in regards to SCP-7849, as an operative for MTF-749. The operative, named Lilith Villaumbrosia, claims to have been trained from birth to wield SCP-7849, and expresses no small amount of dislike towards SCP-7489-1-J, though she has not yet caused issues with the completion of MTF-749’s missions. Lilith is under high surveillance due to her affiliation with GOI-73, and has received the lowest clearance we could allow.

Discovery: Due to the existence and monitoring of GOI-73, the Foundation has been aware of SCP-7849 for several decades. Given the positive goals and the secretive nature of GOI-73, it was deemed unnecessary to contain for several decades. With the death of SCP-7849-1-I, and the Order's loss of control of the anomaly, it was deemed necessary to contain when it fell into our hands. Researcher Jillian noted the presence of SCP-7849-1-J at a technology exhibition she was hosting. On informing the Foundation, a retrieval team was sent after it. The retrieval was successful, but due to lacking information there was a containment breach shortly after a conversation detailed in Document 1.1 between Researcher Beatrice and SCP-7849-1-J. Containment was quickly reestablished with advice from Researcher Beatrice, and SCP-7849-1-J was kept sedated until containment procedures could be established.

Incident Log 1.1: Attached: SCP-7849-1-J Interview

After SCP-7849-1-J was first captured, containment procedures were unclear. Due to this, we were unable to successfully contain it, especially after it was asked by Researcher Beatrice the reason it attempted suicide. The anomaly phased through every containment measure we had in place, and was shot several times in its escape, but we lost track of it. Researcher Beatrice suggested that it was distressed when she brought up the suicide attempt and believed she heard SCP-7849-1-J mutter about a nun. This was extrapolated to the nun that ran the orphanage the anomaly stayed at. A task force was put on route and successfully recaptured the anomaly. Security footage shows the anomaly healing and freeing its roommate. By this point we had received communications from a plant in GOI-73 and devised a manner in which the anomaly could be contained.

Incident Log 1.2

During a routine containment mission by MTF-749 SCP-7849-1-J was forced to unleash an unusually large blast of anomalous energy in order to subdue the anomaly. This resulted in a disturbance by an instance of SCP-7849-3 attempting to neutralize SCP-7849-1-J. Using the sword made of SCP-7849-2 that GOI-73 provided us for use with SCP-7849, SCP-7849-1-J was able to banish the instance back to it's home plane, although not before it impaled operative Lilith on it's arm, taking her body back with it. Condolences were sent to GOI-73 in regards to their member's death, along with a fruit basket.

SCP-7849-1-J has expressed guilt over operative Lilith's death. Command has recommended that Researcher Beatrice spend further time with it.

Incident Log 1.3

Early in the morning, MTF-749 were awoken in their dorm by the arrival of an entity taking the appearance of Lilith. The entity was promptly captured and remanded to SCP custody. Upon inspection, the entity, here forth designated SCP 7851, appears to be Operative Lilith both mentally and physically, but has a strange mutation in the area where operative Lilith was reportedly punctured by the SCP-7849-3 instance. Tentative containment procedures are the same as SCP-7849-1-J.

SCP-7849 Observation Log 1.1

Dated 5 weeks before the SCP-7852 Crisis. Written by Researcher Beatrice

Interestingly, SCP-7849 appears to react based largely on SCP-7849-1’s reactions. When Ava is unbalanced emotionally it seems to lose consistency with its power output, sometimes emitting far more than usual and some not at all. While Ava feeling strong positive emotions and resolve seem to strengthen it. Interestingly, I have noted an uptick in the measured energy strength of SCP-7849 when I am in Ava’s vicinity. Further testing to confirm the accuracy and meaning of this is needed.

Incident Log 1.4

Father Vincent, a minor leader in GOI-73, contacted us with information regarding the most common anomalous phenomena that MTF-749 are tasked with containing, SCP-7850, otherwise known as a Wraith. He believes that the wraiths are pulled across the veil by the presence of anomalous remains beneath the Vatican. MTF-749 were dispatched to the site, where they met with a small attachment of GOI-73 members, including their leader, only known to us as Mother Superion, and Father Vincent. With the coronation ceremony for a new pope going on above, they made their way to the so called crypt, with Operative Camilla of MTF-749 ensuring they were not detected by electronics. MTF-749 was informed that the anomalous remains were behind many feet of stone, and that only SCP-7849-1-J was able to access the chamber in a manner conducive to stealth. SCP-7849-1-J then began the process of phasing into the chamber.

On review of the timeline, the moment SCP-7849-1-J phased into the rock, SCP-7851, who had showed signs of further mutation, phased out of existence while still within its cell. MTF-749 report that SCP-7851 appeared almost immediately after in their vicinity, attempting to use the backup explosives to open a passage to the chamber. It was stopped by Operative Mary both physically and with an appeal to emotion. After SCP-7849-1-J failed to reappear in the time frame predicted, Researcher Beatrice, who had been attached to MTF-749 as SCP-7849-1-J’s handler, took the explosives and detonated them herself, opening the passageway and revealing an incapacitated SCP-7849-1-J and an anomalous entity, designated SCP-7852(Adriel).

SCP-7852 exhibited the ability to summon SCP-7850’s, and used this ability to overwhelm MTF-749, along with an unexpected betrayal by Father Vincent, who revealed that he had been working for the anomaly and meant to free it. MTF-749 we’re able to escape solely due to the sacrifice of Operative Mary, and SCP-7852 has been designated a risk for an exposure event
